My son Jon Lee organized a watercolor workshop and visit to the Maynard Dixon Property for a group of talented young ladies from Kanab, UT. About 12 girls and their leaders came up to Mt. Carmel where Jon and I gave them a watercolor lesson, then had a great tour of the Maynard Dixon Home, The Bingham Art Gallery, and Edith Hamlin Studio. We could see a lot of talent emerging as they worked on paintings of a mountain scene at Duck Creek UT. I was anxious to introduce them to the rich art history of the East Zion area and encourage them to be the women artists of the future. Thanks to Emilie, and to Paul and Susan Bingham for making the facilities available to us.
