Pine Valley Chapel Morning

Watercolor Painting of Pine Valley Utah

About this Item

Pine Valley is a wonderful little pioneer town in a mountain valley north of St. George Utah. It has changed little since pioneer times, except for a proliferation of nice cabins on the mountainside. This little LDS Chapel sits in the center of the town and is the oldest continuously used meeting house in the LDS church. The ancient cottonwoods still watch over the site, but newer pine trees now surround the chapel itself. I chose to depict the chapel as it was before the pines took over the landscape. Anyone who has been to Pine Valley will recognize the scene immediately.
