English Sheep on the Hillside
Original painting by Roland Lee of a scene in the Yorkshire Dales
About this Item
The sheep in England are ever-present. As I took my walks in the fells the sheep would quickly move away, but if I sat down to paint, in a few minutes they would stroll up to see what I was doing. I enjoyed their black faces and shaggy wool coats which sometimes hung to the ground.
