This summer I treated myself to an intensive workshop with one of my favorite landscape painters, John Poon. It was so great to be taking a class and not teaching one for a change, and this workshop did not disappoint. Although being masked all day due to covid, we spent two weeks in the studio and one outdoors painting northern Utah’s amazing landscape. I decided to push the envelop and concentrate on oils and acrylics this time and see what I could come up with. It’s a hard jump between watercolors and opaque mediums but I really learned a lot. Made new friends, completed about 18 paintings, sold two, and came home with a John Poon demo. Yippee!
