I decided to let the light come in gently from the left side and hit the back wall. This would create a nice foil to sillhouette the man, while the woman remained in the shadows. A value study does not have to be detailed to reveal whether my plan will work or not. Once the value study is done, I can envision exactly where I am going with the painting.
