As I begin the painting I wet the sky area with clear water and drop pigment into it, creating soft edges and a variety of colors. I leave the paper dry as I begin painting the rocks using the side of my brush and scumble to create texture on the paper surface. Each time I reach into my palette I draw out a different color, allowing the pigments to mingle where colors meet. I add even more texture by using clear water and splattering the drying pigment areas.
