Description
I started this painting in a workshop as a demonstration. My attempt was to show how simply and beautifully you can create lovely dramatic skies by letting the pigments mingle wet-in-wet. After I painted the sky, this scene came into my mind and I painted it basically from memory of a recent trip to Cedar Mountain near Cedar Breaks National Monument.
