North Fork Morning

Watercolor Painting of Zion National Park

About this Item

The generally peaceful Virgin River provides hikers a pastoral experience. However from time to time this river becomes a raging flood of fury tearing apart everything in its path and scouring the banks of Zion Canyon. In December 2010 floods washed out the Zion Canyon Road reminding us that Nature is in charge here. I respect the power of nature, but I prefer its calmer, quieter side as portrayed in this scene looking south along the North Fork.
