Description
I have painted in Bryce Canyon National Park many times and was an artist in residence there once. The canyon can be overwhelming at first glance, and very daunting to a plein air artist. In this scene I chose to emphasize the grand view creating a border with the dark foreground trees. The last light of the day brings out a myriad of color in the hoodoos and canyons as a blue haze settles on the distant mountains.
