The Southern Utah Art Guild invited me to teach a painting workshop last week. Organized by Paul Jensen and his committee, it was the first workshop held in the brand new Electric Theater Art Center in St. George Utah. The City has been working on the downtown renovation for quite a long time, but the resulting arts complex is outstanding. Since the Art Guild is comprised of all visual art forms, they asked me to teach an all-media workshop. As it turns out most of the attendees were watercolorists, with about five others working in either oils or acrylics. I used my platform to share all of my favorite painting tips gained over many years. I probably gave them way to much, but this group handled it all well. I like to use Powerpoint, live painting demos, and tons of handouts in my workshops. Thanks to the SUAG for a well-organized workshop and to a great group of participating artists.
