Description
This is a transparent watercolor painting of the Virgin River in Zion National Park. I was excited about the amazing reflections broken up by the ripples in the water. I combined the technique I learned from David Drummond that I use on my Lake Powell paintings with the more traditional technique I use for moving water to create the water effects. I think it’s obvious why I call this painting “A Patch of Blue.” This painting was used in a demonstration I did for an art symposium in conjunction with the “Century of Sanctuary – Art of Zion National Park” art exhibit in August 2008
