Class plein air painting an old barn in the town of Escalante

Roland Lee painting of “The old Bailey cabin” owned by Bob and Lisa Hartman
We had a great time at the Escalante Canyons Plien Air festival, where I taught a plein air watercolor workshop for about 14 artists. In addition to classroom demos, we painted on location at the Escalante River Trail Head and an old barn in the town of Escalante. The artists were wonderful and the weather cooperated nicely. I was grateful to Lisa and Bob Hartman who let us stay in their beautifully restored 1890’s cabin. What a wonderful event.
