The National Park paintings of Roland Lee and Royden Card are on display through November 13, 2016 at Gallery 35 in St. George UT. In conjunction with the National Parks Centennial, Arts to Zion has mounted a special display about artists who have worked as painters in the National Parks. Artists such as Thomas Moran, Maynard Dixon, and Frederick Dellenbaugh painted in Zion National Park in the early days of the Park’s history, while contemporary artists such as Jimmie Jones (deceased), Royden Card, and Roland Lee have carried on the tradition. The exhibit, organized by Bobbi Wankier, is leading up to the 2017 traveling exhibit, “The Way We Worked,” curated by the National Archives and Smithsonian Institution, and sponsored by Utah Humanities.
