Value Study for Winter Water
I begin nearly every painting by doing a few pencil studies. This helps me figure out the composition, and develop the values. These are called ‘Thumbnails” because they are so small. This is the thumbnail for “Winter Water” a 6 x 9 painting demonstration for one of my workshops.
