This summer, Dixie State University’s O.C. Tanner Amphitheater will host “Sanctuary: The Story of Zion,” an original production.
Written by amazing storyteller and singer/songwriter Sam Payne, and produced by Steve Lemmon, with music by Ryan Tilby, the show tells the incredible story of Zion National Park through pictures, story and song. Artist Roland Lee is featured in a video portion of the production, interviewed as he paints plein air in Zion.
“Sanctuary” weaves entertainment and history together, providing the audience a greater understanding of the challenges and triumphs of one of the nation’s most popular national parks. Its story spans from Zion’s first ancient inhabitants, to the pioneer settlers of the area and, finally, present-day residents and tourists.
The show plays at 8:30 p.m. on July 1, 2, 22 and 23, August 19 and 20, and September 3 and 5. Tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for youth, and $38 for families.
