During the summer of 2016 Sam Payne and Steve Lemmon produced a wonderful stage show called “Sanctuary” which honored the Centennial of the National Parks System. Combining live music, readings, and giant video projections, the show was a huge success. I was fortunate to be in the video portion, where they interviewed me about my experiences painting in Zion for the past 35 years. The staging area for the video shoot was beneath the Sentinel (the location shown in the painting.) This painting was commissioned as a gift for Steve Lemmon, honoring his part in bringing the whole project to fruition.
