About this Item
During Autumn of 2011 I visited the Kolob Fingers section of Zion National Park several times to do some plein air studies of the cliffs and canyons. On one special morning the sun cast its rays in a play of light across the canyon. Because of its large size, this painting was done later in the studio from small studies done on site.
