Desert Runoff
Gunlock Reservoir, southern Utah
About this Item
During Spring of 2005 southern Utah was inundated with rainfall, creating numerous flash floods which filled the reservoirs beyond capacity. At Gunlock Reservoir, a favorite fishing spot of mine, the water came over the spillway and tumbled into dozens of turbulent waterfalls cascading over the red rocks. It was an incomparable sight that I just had to paint.
