Ripples of Gold

Watercolor Painting of Duck Creek on Cedar Mountain UT

About this Item

Autumn on Cedar Mountain in Utah is a wonderful time. Bright gold and yellow leaves form a brilliant canopy above the mountain trails. A beautiful and peaceful creek meanders through the forests of evergreens which line the water’s edge. One of my favorite spots is at Duck Creek near Aspen Mirror Lake. In this painting, I positioned myself on a slippery rock at the foot of some worn and bleached branches criss-crossing the creek. The fallen leaves of gold made their mark on the ground and in the water forming “ripples of gold.” Collection: Ralph and Cheri Atkin
