The Great White Throne is one of Zion National Park’s most prominent landmarks. It can be seen best from Big Bend, but another great view is from the Angel’s Landing Trail. On this particular day, the clouds were low and drifted across the front of The Great White Throne while the parting clouds opened a shaft of sunlight on the canyon floor. That view helped me develop this painting later in the studio. This painting was exhibited at Gallery 35 as part of “The Way We Worked” exhibit showing how artists worked in Zion from past to present. It is also the subject of an instructional DVD.
