Long View – Capitol Reef Plein Air

Painting on location is the ultimate painting experience for me. I crave being outdoors, especially anywhere where there is sand, sagebrush and wide open spaces. But painting outdoors has many challenges. The artists has to paint quickly using a small format in order to capture a scene before the light changes everything. In this little painting I chose a long distant view with a 5 x 7 format. I thought it captured the essence of the scene. Do you agree? Collection: L. Testa
