DESCRIPTION:Roland Lee will be participating as a Centennial Artist and presenting live painting demonstrations at this years Zion Centennial event November 6-10\, 2019 at Zion National Park. Honoring Zion National Park’s 2019 Centennial\, the Forever Project\, in partnership with the Park\, have planned a distinct celebration of art and history during our traditional plein air art week\, November 6-10\, 2019. Along with our featured artist\, Arlene Braithwaite\, we’ve invited ten artists from among the featured artists of our first ten years to participate in this year’s celebration as “Centennial Artists.” This year’s event is shorter\, modified\, and more streamlined to fit in with the other great things happening during the Zion National Park Centennial. We’re calling it: “100 Objects – 100 Images\,” and it will juxtapose the legacy of art in the canyon with the park’s history. It is designed to continue\, in a new and exciting way\, the great tradition of art in the park established over the first ten years of our plein air event.

Carmel\, Utah 84755\nUnited States \n\n\n\n\nThis fall I will be participating in the second Invitational Milford Zornes Watercolor Paint Out at Mt. Carmel\, UT. In 1963\, watercolorist Milford Zornes bought Maynard Dixon’s Summer Home and Studio in Mt. Carmel\, Utah from Dixon’s widow\, Edith Hamlin. Afterwards\, Zornes organized annual watercolor workshops for fellow artists and students so they could paint together. In the spirit of Zornes’ vision there’s going to be a gathering of artists who paint in watercolor\, October 11-15\, 2017. \nOrganized by watercolor artist Carolyn Lord\, with assistance from Spike Ress\, the event is generously supported by The Thunderbird Foundation Fine Art Gallery with hosts Susan and Paul Bingham\, founders of The Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts and restorers of the Maynard Dixon Home & studio\, in Mt Carmel\, Utah. \nNiether a competition or a public event\, the invitational paint-out allows watercolor artists to gather\, socialize\, and paint outdoors in the East Zion area. During the event plein air paintings will be on display in the gallery area and available for purchase.
